Platform advice, honestly
Shopify or WooCommerce, chosen for how you'll actually sell.
Launching an online store is exciting - and easy to get wrong. We help UK founders launch on the right platform, built to sell and to scale, so you start with a store that works rather than one you have to rebuild in a year.
It's never been easier to throw up a store - and never been easier to do it badly. The wrong platform, a checkout that leaks customers, no plan for getting found, and within a few months you're rebuilding instead of selling.
Starting right costs less than starting twice. A bit of strategy up front - the right platform, a store built to convert, a plan to get found - saves you the painful, expensive do-over later.

Start with the basics in the right order: validate that people want what you're selling, choose a platform that fits how you'll sell (Shopify for speed and simplicity, WooCommerce for control and content), build a store designed to convert rather than just display products, and set up the SEO and analytics foundations so you can be found and can measure what's working. Then launch lean and improve from real data. The most common mistake is over-building before you've proven demand - or under-building so badly you have to start again. We help you get the balance right.
It varies a lot depending on how custom you go. With us, a Shopify store is fixed-price: £4,000 for Essential (up to 25 products), £6,500 for Growth (up to 100 products, migration and email marketing) and from £10,000 for Scale, scoped in person - plus Shopify's own plan fees, paid directly to Shopify. If you're testing demand, we'll often suggest starting leaner and reinvesting once sales prove the model. We'll give you an honest steer on what's worth spending at your stage rather than selling you the biggest build by default.
For most first-time founders who want to launch quickly with minimal technical overhead, Shopify is the easier starting point - and it's what we build on, as a Shopify Partner. WooCommerce on WordPress suits founders who want more control, plan to publish content, and care about long-term SEO, accepting a bit more setup. There's no single right answer - it depends on your products, your margins and your plans. We'll explain the trade-offs plainly and, if Shopify fits, build it so you're not boxed in if you grow.
